Biography:

Christina was born in the Bronx, NY in April 1974. She grew up in Washingtonville NY, a small town 50 miles North of NYC. She graduated high school, six months early, in January 1992. She entered the U.S. Air Force in March 1992. During the next six years, she was a Small Arms Weapons Instructor. Her stations included San Antonio Texas, Incirlik Turkey, and Goldsboro North Carolina. While in Turkey, she met and married her husband Dan, who was a Security Policeman in the U.S. Air Force. Christina is one of the recipient’s of the U.S. Air Force’s Leadership Award in 1997. In January 1996, their son Joseph was born and in March 1998 their daughter Ashley was born.

After leaving the military in May 1998, Dan and Christina moved to Idaho Falls. She began her Martial Arts training in June 2001 in Ed Parker’s 16-technique American Kenpo System. Christina began teaching Kenpo in 2002, and after running a local dojo in 2003 while the primary instructor was absent for 8 months, she continued to teach upon his return.

Feeling the business relationship was at an end, in August 2004, she decided to leave that dojo and seek instruction elsewhere. She found an Association (AKLA) that teaches Ed Parker’s 24-technique American Kenpo System. She currently holds the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt. In April 2006, she joined the EKKA in Salt Lake City Utah, training under the Instruction of 6th Degree Black Belt Master James Kelly. In January 2007, she joined the AKTS in Boise Idaho. Christina is currently training under the direct instruction of 9th Degree Black Belt Master John Sepulveda.

Christina received her Associate’s Degree from Idaho State University (ISU) in Sign Language Studies in August 2005. She graduated from ISU in May 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and teaching certifications in Physical Education, Health, and Mathematics.

Christina has accepted a teaching position at a local Juvenile Correction Center. She feels this is a great opportunity to help young members of the community improve on themselves.

Interesting Facts about her: She has continued to train in-spite of having bilateral shoulder surgery during 2003 and blowing out her ACL and meniscus during 2004 earning her 3 rd Degree Brown Belt in Spokane Washington. With the correct mindset, she was able to overcome injury.
