Marney Hodges:

I have known Mrs. Davis for over five years both as a friend and classmate. She became my Sensei (teacher) about a year ago. I chose her because I knew she would focus on my training only. Sensei Davis knows I have stability and flexibility issues. She started with a workout that would help with my difficulties and slowly strengthen my body. She encourages me to work hard and not be as body conscious as I once was. Her training in the classroom correlates to the real world. I have more confidence in my abilities as well as many aspects of my life.

I did receive instruction from another school in the local area, of which Mrs. Davis was a student and assistant instructor at one time. During the year between leaving that school and starting with Sensei Davis I had lost everything. On my first day with her I wore my white belt. When Sensei Davis asked why, I told her that I deteriorated in my skills. After training only one day a week for six months she made me feel like I knew what I was doing again. At my old school the ranking system was smaller and the techniques were different, but the ease in which Sensei Davis teaches, it wasn’t as hard to learn the new information. I felt I wasn’t going to be frustrated by one day a week of training. She inspires me to see how far I can take my fitness, my training, and my life.
